Madi's Hero

This is a layout that I did for my niece Zara for her little girl Madison's room.  This is a photo of Madi & her hero, Aunt Karen.  I used the beautiful "Gabrielle" Collection of papers from Bo Bunny.  I did a lot of layering, as usual and used a Martha Stewart round the page punch.  Thanks so much for stopping by & I hope you enjoy!!

It's Reveal Day At Scraps of Darkness!!! "Welcome to the Jungle"

Good Morning!!  Today is Reveal Day at Scraps of Darkness!!  Our June kit is called "Welcome To The Jungle" and is just full of beautiful and fun animal prints and beautiful papers from BoBunny.  This kit included some metal embellies , stickers, and some Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint and Distress Ink (Crushed Olive).  We also were given some Tim Holtz Distress Stains (Wild Honey & Antique Linen) to try out along with some very cool and very thick die cuts called Art Parts by Studio 490.  There's some beautiful Prima borders and Petaloo floral embellies.    There also is some Stickles (Paprika).  Here's a photo of some of the papers and extras that Mel put together for another very unique and fun kit to work with!!!  Hope you enjoy my work with it!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Jenn and the Boys ~~Scraps of Darkness~~

This is a layout of my daughter Jenn and her boys at the Summer Arts Festival this last weekend.  We had a lot of fun with the boys getting their faces painted and playing around the river!  For this layout I used the cool new BoBunny Zoology Collection from our June kit at Scraps of Darkness.  It's such a fun kit for children layouts!!  For this layout I layered a couple of bg papers and inked them with Tim Holtz (Crushed Olive).  I then took a round piece of cardboard (from my pizza) and distressed it.  Then I applied some Gesso and sprayed  some Glimmer Mist (Pumpkin) and some Crushed Olive and Rusty Hinge ink.  I also added a little Ranger Archival Black ink with a paint brush.  For the Dusty Attic Skelton Clock Face I Gessoed the entire chipboard and then used some Perfect Pearls "Heirloom Gold" to spray randomly. For the thick chipboard leaves I first inked it with Tim Holtz (Crushed Olive).  I then stamped them with a script stamp using Tim Holtz's Distress Embossing Ink and  Ranger Archival Black and then sprayed them with some Goosebumps Texture Spray.  I also inked and sprayed the KaiserCraft Alphas in the same way.  I also used the beautiful stick pin that Mandy aka CraftySprinkles made for this mont's kit.  This was a fun one to do, using some new techniques!!  Hope you enjoy, thanks for stopping by!!!

Here's a couple of close-ups of the chipboard that I stamped and the texture sprayed, along with a close-up of the chipboard clock face that I used gesso and some mist.

Summer Arts Festival ~~June Sketch Challenge~~ Scraps of Darkness

Here's another photo of Ethan at our Summer Arts Festival this last weekend.  He was in serious thought here!!  For this one I did a little layering and inking on the bg papers using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Crushed Olive) that comes with our June Kit "Zoology" by BoBunny.  For this one I also used a little Caludine Hellmuth Studio Gesso and topped it with some orange mesh I had.  I then sprayed some Glimmer Mist (Pumpkin Pie) over it after it dried.  For the alphas & flowers I inked them with the Crushed Olive ink and then applied some Melt Art Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel and hit it with my heat tool.  The butterflies Renea found for us online, such a sweetie!!  The flowers are from Prima (Heart Desire Col. Spice).  The crystal embellie is from Prima Say It In Crystals.  Thanks so much for looking and I hope you enjoy!!

Here's a few close-ups of the mesh with the alphas and the butterflies that Renea found for us!

Elias James ~~Scraps of Darkness~~

This layout is of my #3 grandson Elias at the Summer Arts Festival this last weekend.  We had so much fun, getting their faces painted!!  He was a little lion and was in his stroller roaring at everyone, lol!!  This month's kit at Scraps of Darkness is full of  BoBunny's Zoology Collection and went perfect with these photos I thought.  For this page I used the following Zoology papers:  Wild Thing & Tiger.  I also used some of the cut-outs and stickers that were included in the kit.  I topped a couple of the flowers from Prima (Eminence Collection) with some metal trinkets included with the kit.  The Prima "Flowered Tendrils Tangerine went really well  with this lo.  I also used the Petaloo Floral Embellies (Darjeeling Collection) that came in the kit and stamped them with an old grid stamp using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Crushed Olive) to match the title cutout.  The leaves were from Art Parts by Studio 490.  First I painted them with some Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint (Peeled Paint) and let that dry.  Then I pressed some Tim Holtz Distress Stain (Wild Honey).  After that dried a little I sprayed the entire leave with some Goosebumps Clear Texture Spray.  For the title I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Crushed Olive) and topped that with some Stickles (Paprika) along with the small dragonflies.  For the circle border I used Lisa's (StarSailor's) method using a Martha Stewart corner punch.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!!  Thanks so much for all your sweet comments, it's much appreciated!!

Here's so close-ups of the "Elias" layout.  You can see the crackle paint a lot better close-up.  For the white flowers I used an old grid stamp inked with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Crushed Olive) and stamped the flowers to match the cut out title.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!!!

Ethan Gino ~~Scraps of Darkness~~

This layout is of my #2 grandson, Ethan at the Summer Arts Festival this month.  My dd , Jenn and I took the boys and had a great time.  The photos of their faces painted went perfect with this month's "Zoology" Collection we have at Scraps of Darkness.  For this layout I used the BoBunny Zoology Word,  Zoology, and giraffe papers.  For the border on the bottom I used  a metal trinket from BoBunny's Zoology collection.  The alpha stickers are also included in the kit.  I also used some Tim Holtz Distress Stain (Wild Honey)  and Ranger's Archival Ink (Black) from the kit.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!!  All your comments are so appreciated!!

Just a couple of close-ups of the "Ethan" layout.
