~Expecting~ Scraps Of Darkness

Good Morning Sweet Friends, Today I'm sharing a Design Team Project using the gorgeous April Kit "Laura's Wish Kit" for Scraps Of Darkness.  I just love the colors and papers Melinda has put together for this kit!!  For this project I did a layout of my friend's niece and her hubby who are expecting a little one this summer.  I used a combination of the Authentique "Durable" and Kaisercraft "Antique Bazaar" paper collections from the kit.  I used one of my Spellbinders "Card Creator" dies for matting the photo.  I then used the TW "Mini Screen" stencil from the kit to stencil here and there on the layout with some Studio 490 Embossing Paste (Metallic Gold) to accent the gold centers in the beautiful Prima Flowers.  I also cut some foliage using my Cottage Cutz "Leafy Foliage" die cut to add to the flower cluster.  This is my interpretation of Sketch 119 from Sketchabilities.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy and grab one of these kits to create some beautiful memories for your family!

"From LeipZig With Love" ~Scraps Of Darkness~

Hi Sweet Friends, Today I'm sharing another DT project for Scraps Of Darkness using the amazing March Kit "Michelle's Mechanical Madness".  For this layout I used an image that I just love by Niveau0 of Deviantart.Com with her permission which I altered using a Tim Holtz background and some stamping from a photo editor.

For this project I used the beautiful Prima "The Archivist" paper collection from the kit.  I also used the TCW "Radar Remnant" stencil along with the Prima "Lace" stencil from the kit and applied some  Tim Holtz Vintage Photo.  I used alot of the Mica Tiles from the kit to give the layout a vintage and aged look.  I cut and inked the edges with the Vintage Photo ink and placed them randomly around the center of the layout.  I also did some fussy cutting of items from "The Archivist" 3x4 Note Cards from the kit along with the Prima Metal Trinket & Alphas using the S for Steampunk.  To alter the metal and Blue Fern Studio Gears I first painted them with some Lumiere (Metallic Rust) and then applied both with Tim Holtz's Alcohol Inks...Slate and Aged Bronze.  I used some washi tape randomly and stamped with a wire style stamp.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!!

"Now Is The Time" Canvas ~Scraps Of Darkness~

Hi Sweet Friends, Today I'm sharing another Design Team Project with you using Scraps Of Darkness's fantastic March Kit 'Michelle's Mechanical Madness".  For this project I used the 5 x 7 Artist's Canvas from the Creativity Add-On Kit.  I used paper from the Kaisercraft "Betsy's Couture Collection from the kit for the background that I distressed with some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.  I then used the Prima 6 x 6 stencil "Lace" with some Studio 490 Wendy Vechi "Metallic Gold Embossing Paste, before that could dry I applied Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powder "Cleopatra's Copper" and then dried.  I then stamped the Prima Finnabair "Now Is The Time" stamp onto the canvas.  I then colored in some areas of the stamp with Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens "Copper, Gold, and Silver.  For the Blue Fern Studio Cog and Gears chipboard I first inked them with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Vintage Photo.  I then sprayed them with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst "Cajun Carnelian Red" from the kit.  After sprayed the piece split into several pieces which I loved because I was able to take a layer and add it flush to the canvas and wrap it around the edges..perfect.  I also used the Petaloo Botanica Collection flowers and the Prima Say It In Crystals "The Archivist" collection brads to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!
