Good Morning, I'm excited to share a canvas piece that I did using the August Kit, from Scraps of Darkness! This was so fun to create. I started with the 5x7 canvas that came in the add on kit. First step was to gesso the entire canvas. I then took some script tissue paper and stamped some Tim Holtz "Bitty Grunge" with Adirondack Eathtones "Pitch Black". I then tore that and glued that onto the top and bottom corners of the canvas. Be sure to dry the Gesso completely before stamping. For the next step I used the Lumiere "Halo Blue Gold" and the Lumiere "Citrine" and painted the entire canvas. After that had dried I used some molding paste and "set" the 3x3 mini canvas on top of that and continued to add molding paste around the mini canvas and also around the edges of the canvas. While the molding paste was still wet I added in some steampunk mini gears and watch parts along with some of the "Midnight" micro beads from the kit and let that dry. I then took the Lumiere colors and again painted over the molding paste. After that I used some Adirondack Alcohol Ink "Slate" and some Adirondack Mixatives "Copper" and used my finger to spread that around on the edges. For the Imaginarium Designs Chipboard pieces I also used the same colors as on the rest of the canvas for a monochromatic feel. To finish it off I added some copper beads and Vintaj metal pieces. Thanks for taking a peek and I hope you enjoy!

Childhood Memories ~~Scraps of Darkness~~ Imaginarium Designs Chipboard
Here's a couple of close-ups of the techniques I used for my canvas project. You can see the micro beads and mini steampunk pieces in the molding paste. For the Imaginarium Designs chipboard I used all three Lumiere colors along with some "Ocean Blue" Liquid Pearls and some Adirondack Alcohol Ink "Copper" and "Slate" that I spread around with my finger. This was such a fun project and I hope to have a tutorial soon with another project for you.
Time Together ~~Scraps of Darkness~~ August Kit
Good Morning, I have another project from the colorful August Kit "Jamaican Sun" from Scraps of Darkness. For this layout I again used the "Indie Chic" Collection from My Mind's Eye from the kit. This is a photo of my #1 Grandson Kenneth with one of my brothers playing their annual football toss in the lake. I did some fussy cutting and used the cute "Indie Chic" Collection Garland and one of the die cuts from the same collection. I also used a few Tim Holtz metal corner pieces for a little masculine touch. We got our kits a little late this month so these are not too details this month. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!!

Summer Time ~~Scraps of Darkness~~ August Kit "Jamaican Sun"
Good Morning, Here's another DT project using the beautiful August Kit , for Scraps of Darkness. For this layout I used the oh so pretty papers from The Scrap Cake. These papers are the prettiest soft tones!! I used the "Mr. Huey Mask, Chevron" on the corners of the bg paper. I made the rosettes using my Tim Holtz Die Cut and Vagabond. I also used a Tim Holtz Stamp for the tags above the photo. The tiny flowers are from Prima and the brads are from My Mind's Eye "Indie" collection. The mini roses are from Websters Pages "Whimsies" collection. I used a beautiful sketch by Sarah R. for ScrapBooking Sketches. Riding With Dad ~~Imaginarium Designs~~
Hello My Friends, Today is a fun day, I am sharing a couple of DT projects that I did for Imaginarium Designs. For this layout I used the "Need For Speed" (IDP #0010) chipboard along with the Mini Cogs (IDT0004). To alter the phrase and the cogs I first painted with some Gesso. I then used some Stampa Rosa "Detail Copper" Embossing Powder and used my heating tool to "melt" it. After that had dried I painted all the pieces with some Liquid Leaf "Florentine Gold" and let that dry. When everything was nice and dry I used some Tattered Angels "Sapphire" Glimmer Mist in a random fashion, with some thick drops here and there. They look like aged rust irl, so fun!!

Summer Dreams ~~Imaginarium Designs~~
Good Morning My Friends, Today I'm sharing a couple of DT projects that I did for Imaginarium Designs. Jane's chipboard is just awesome to work with and she has a beautiful variety to choose from! For this layout I used some Donna Salazar "Bontanique" Collection of papers. I included some Prima Wooden Clocks for some contrast. I painted on some Gesso on the bg paper first. To alter the chipboard corners I first painted them with Gesso and let that dry, then I took some moulding paste and put it on pretty thick for the chunky effect. After that I sprinkled on some Tim Holtz "Tattered Rose" Distress Embossing Powder along with some Shimmerz Paints "Enamalz" Molten Metal and set that to heat. To alter the heart fence I first painted it with gesso and then applied some Tim Holtz Distress White Picket Fence Crackle Paint. I also took a sponge and dabbed some Gesso on all the roses and grapevine.

Scraps of Elegance August Reveal Day
Good Morning My Dear Friends, Today is reveal day here at Scraps of Elegance. This month's kit is called "Summer Haven" and is just gorgeous. Mel put together another beauty full of gorgeous papers from Kaisercraft, Fabscraps, and Teresa Collins. You really should grab one of these beautiful kits while you can.
I was only able to complete one layout and small mini clear acrylic album this last weekend. I've been suffering from a major migraine headache for several days now. So I will have more layouts from this kit once I get over this migraine, so stay tuned!! I had fun with this kit and really hope you enjoy. Thanks so much for all your sweet comments!!
Here's a photo of the August Kit
Scraps of Elegance August Sketch Challenge
This month's kit called "Summer Haven" here at Scraps of Elegance is so pretty. This is the only layout I was able to get out for reveal day. I just got back from vacation on Thursday and opened the beautiful kit and was ready to spend 3 whole days just scrapping, but I got another horrible migraine headache, so I will be revealing several more projects once this headache is gone.
This is my take on the beautiful August sketch by our ever talented SuePup. For this layout I used the beautiful Kaisercraft "The Lake House Collection" of papers and the gorgeous Fabscraps "Organic Herbs Collection". I also used the awesome butterflies by Reneabouquets from the kit, they match the papers just beautifully. Everything on this layout is from the August kit except for the purple roses, they are from I Am Roses.

Scraps of Elegance "Kaisercraft Mini Acrylic Album"
Here's the pages from the Kaisercraft Clear album from the August kit "Summer Haven". I made this album fo my niece Zara, these are some darling photos of her little Madi. I used the Kaisercraft papers from "The Lake House Collection" - Resort along with the pretty "Sweet Afternoon Die Cut Accessory Sheet from Teresa Collins collection that is included in the kit to accessorise the pages a little. I also used some of the beautiful pink crinkle ribbon with some other ribbon from previous kits and a couple of charms from my dear friend Cheryl for the rings that hold the mini album together. The crystals are from Prima's "Say It In Crystals" collection, the little roses are from the Websters Pages "Whimsies" and are Periwinkle Pink, and the beautiful charms on the rings are from Prima's Meadowlark collection.
