I Love You Always ~~Scraps of Darkness~~

Good Morning, This is a layout using the beautiful December kit "Winter's Eve" here at Scraps of Darkness!!  It's a beautiful kit full of Bo Bunny's gorgeous "Enchanted" Collection.  This is a photo of my friend's dd's buddy and his daughter.  This layout is my take on Charlotte's (SuePup) beautiful sketch this month!  I loved the photo so much that I didn't want to take away from it with lots of papers or embellies, so I tried to keep it simple!!

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope you all enjoy!!

Madi and the Hammock ~~Scraps of Darkness~~

Good Morning My Friends,  Here's another layout I'm sharing today using our gorgeous December kit "Winter's Eve" for Scraps of Darkness.  This is a beautiful kit that can take you in any direction.  When I saw this photo of my niece's little one, Madi I had to use it with the Bo Bunny "Enchanted" Collection!!  I inked around the papers with some Distress Inks (Worn Lipstick and Shappy Shutters) which looks greener irl.  I had the colorful pink and black flowers for ever and thought they went perfectly with the photo!!  I also used the flower from the kit along with a couple of butterflies that my team mate Renea found for us!!  Thanks for taking a peek, I hope you enjoy!!

Pearls and Lace ~~Scraps of Darkness~~

Hi My Friends,  This is a layout using a beautiful SteamPunk photo from Steampunk Girls.  This photo just cried out for the December kit "Winter's Eve" here at Scraps of Darkness!!  It's full of Bo Bunny "Enchanted" black and white papers and some black lace.  I used some of the incredible watch pieces that I received from a friend in Holland just in time for this month's kit!!!  I also  added some pretty red bling to match her hair!  The black lace came with the kit and the white fringe is from November's kit.  , the pearls I had on hand.  The beautiful stickpin is from our ever-talented Mandycakes (CraftySprinkles).  This is an image called "Black Lady by FroweMinahild at deveiantart.com.  Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy, I love doing my steampunk!!!

Embattled, by Ophelias-Overdose ~~Scraps of Darkness~~

This is another SteamPunk layout using our December kit "Winter's Eve" here at Scraps of Darkness.  The techniques for the framing on on the post below.  This is an awesome photo called "Embattled" by Ophelias Overdose that I found at SteamPunk Girls.  I used some of the beautiful Bo Bunny Enchanted papers from the kit which I stamped with some antique glasses from a set of rub-ons that I found in the dollar bin at Michael's.  The watch pieces are antique and are from Holland.  The two stylist pieces of a pen are my Dad's from his art collection and mean alot to me.  I will have both of these SteamPunk layouts for sale in my Esty Shop.  The pieces behind the watch pieces are Graphic 45 Metal.  Thanks for taking a peek and I hope you enjoy, it was fun creating this one!!

Here's a few close-ups of the frame work I did using aluminum foil.  I suggest some foil tape (you can get some at any hardware store)as it is tape and adheres really well.  There's a great tutorial for this on Utube by "Crafty Christina Creations (xstina 5450), her work is beautiful!  First I used some matt gel on the canvas and then positioned some items on the top of that.  I then used some glue & seal over the Tim Holtz Chipboard.    Next I scrunched up some foil and then spread that out over the chipboard, and cut to fit the canvas.  It's best to use a stylist to go around the items you want to highlight.  Then I painted it with some Americana "Terra Cotta", let that dry.  Then I painted over that with some Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint (Tarnished Brass) and let that dry.  After that I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam (Mermaid).  After that dried I used some Tim Holtz Distress Stains (Vintage Photo and Forest Moss).  When that was totally dry I used some Tim Holtz Tissue Tape for the corners and sides of the canvas, which I then used some Mod Podge to adhere the tape.  It's really fun and the colors are beautiful irl!!

Ethan and Santa ~~Graphic 45~~

This is a layout of my grandson Ethan when he was 1 on Santa's lap.  I used the beautiful new Graphic 45 "Christmas Emporium" Collection, such awesome graphics and colors, love their new lines!!  I did a lot of layering of course, and a little inking.  That's all that was really needed with this collection, so much to see just with the papers!  Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have your Christmas shopping done, I'm still behind on that!!

Mother and Child ~~Scraps of Darkness November Round Robin~~

Good Morning My Friends,
It's my turn to reveal my take on the November Round Robin at Scraps of Darkness!!  I'm on Team 3,  started by the ever talented CMomGo (Cheryl) and am following Witchymama (Sugar)!!  This was such a fun layout to do as I haven't done any corset work in awhile now.  This is a beautiful photo of my niece Zara and her little one Madi.  I used my Scraps of Darkness November kit "Purple Haze".  It's such a diverse kit and so fun to create with!  I did some layering and used a beautiful technique called Twisted Lacing by Natasha at Moments of Tranquility for the corset lacing.  I wanted to do a torn frame around the photo like Witchymama did, but just couldn't get it right so I used an old page from an antique book that I had lying around along with some Dusty Attic chippies and some mini scroll type frames and the top and bottom.  For the Dusty Attic pieces I first painted them with the white Gesso and then sprinkled some Shimerz Enamels-Molten Metal Sparkliscious.  The frame for the small photo is from Prima's Resin Collection.   I hope you all have a wonderful week.  I'm looking forward to receiving my new December kit from Scraps of Darkness and also working on some new Steampunk Wall Art that I will have for sale in my Esty Shop soon!!
